It was my day off, and I was walking through Granada centre about to meet some friends. I chose to walk down the street where my husband Cacho had opened a little Flamenco shop. at the end of 2019, which sadly closed down soon after, once Covid hit

I like to check out the new businesses on that street, (calle Salamanca). So while walking down, I looked to the left and saw an artist had taken one of the shops and filled it with beautiful colorful works depicting Granada frozen in time. My neck still twisted to the left while walking forward, I saw a flash of a painting at the back of the shop, and thought to myself "oh look, there's a painting of me!", then took another step forward before stopping and freezing.

Hang on a minute.. that's me! I turned around and saw a shop seller leaning against the wall in front of this particular store. "Hi, do you work in this shop?" (Yes)."Who painted that painting at the back?"

Seller: "The art in this shop is by a variety of artists, but I painted that particular painting"

Me: "Wow! The dancer in that painting is me!"

Seller: (astonished)"What?!"

Me: "That's me!"

Needless to say it was a totally magical moment, we were both so surprised by the incident. We got to talking and the artist explained he had typed some key words into Google including"Flamenco" and "Granada" and he found a photo of me which he was taken with and actually painted in a few different sizes.

After a while, he was so taken by the magical circumstances that he really felt like the painting had been waiting for me and he ever so generously decided to give me the painting as a gift.

I was speechless! It was like a fated moment out of Coelho's "The Alchemist". I couldn't express my gratitude enough and that day was the start of a friendship with this kind soul.

I feel so blessed that someone would paint me and then so selflessly present me with this treasure. A moment I will appreciate and cherish forever. Thank you Luis!
